Southern Kaduna Christian leaders meet with governortorial aspirants in Kaduna State ahead campaign period to curb election violence in the area and the state at large.
Addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting the Chairman, Southern Kaduna Christians Leaders Forum, Evangelist Emanuel Kure explained the decision behind the meeting was to access the candidates and select the best three out of them and present them to the people for them to decide and pray for God to choose the best one who has people at heart.
Evangelist Kure said they don’t want to leave the people to be taken out of ignorance in order not to experience another violence that may not augur well with the state.
Recalling back the incident of 2011 post-election violence, the Chairman noted that when such unfortunate occur it will end immediately but in southern Kaduna, it will take different dimensions that may last up to another election.
In that regard, he said church leaders from all over the area were gathered together to meet and interact with all the governortorial aspirants to clear all doubts and enable clergies to convey to their followers at home the real fact about the candidates and their
blueprints.
In the meantime, only five aspirants attended the meeting but it was a great success for them to come together and address the people at a time.
Evangelist Emanuel Kure, therefore, called on other religious leaders to emulate the initiative to bring sanity to the politics of Kaduna State.
The five aspirants who attended the meeting include the governortorial of Action Alliance-AA, Mr. Timothy Adamu, Senator Suleman Hunkuyi of the NNPP, and Senator Uba Sani of the All Progressive Congress-APC. Others are governortorial candidates of APGA, Rev.Dr.Duya and Mr.Jonathan Asake of the Labour Party-Labour Party, LP.
