A nongovernmental organization, Make All Count Awareness (MACA), Preaching Peace and Honoring individuals that have contributed to society has honored Ibrahima Yakubu, DW-Hausa correspondent in Nigeria with a remarkable award for selfless service to humanity.
The organizers of the event explained that it took them 3 months to assess several journalists that are exceptionally good at humanitarian reportage and services irrespective of tribe, culture, region, or religious differences.
“The journalist exemplifies humanitarian ideals and attributes, contributing significantly toward alleviating human suffering and improving the quality of life of individuals both at rural and Urban centers”.
The organizers of the MACA award added the recipient of the award, Ibrahima Yakubu has also contributed immensely towards promoting peace and developmental journalism in African countries through his write-ups.
The management of MACA humanitarian organization deemed it fit to equally award him with the ambassador of the humanitarian award by decorating him with membership regalia.
Ibrahima was awarded along with other Nigerians that helped shaped the lives of thousands of widows and orphans with different skills acquisition to reduce poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment in rural and urban centers across the country.
The recipient Ibrahima Yakubu expressed delight and called on other humanitarian NGOs and CSos to be more committed to providing humanitarian assistants to victims of banditry, and Boko Haram insurgency in some parts of the country.
Ibrahima said just last week he received a science and environmental journalism award from an International Environmental Institutes in Africa.
