ONEWIN BASKETBALL FOUNDATION SALUTES GSMP FOR SUPPORT, AS 2-MONTH IDP GIRLS EDUCATION CLINIC ENDS

A two-month girl child education clinic organized by One win Basketball Foundation in collaboration with the Global Sports Mentoring Program, (GSMP) has ended with a passionate appeal by the parents and children for more.


Addressing Newsmen at the closing ceremony of the two months camp, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Coach Christiana Nnorom Mark, also referred to as, ‘Carter’ said the One win Basketball Foundation program tagged “SHE CAN” was for the girls in the three different Internally Displaced Camps, (IDPs) in Kaduna state.


She explained that the project is aimed to educate and teach the Girl Child life skills, to make them relevant and self-reliant in the future.


Coach Christiana Carter said that; “the Foundation has created a safe space for the young girls to help them recognize their potential through education and sports”.


The One win Foundation boss, thanked Global Sports Mentoring Program for the support and encouragement to the OneWin Basketball Foundation to bring life into the IDP camps.


“We are profoundly grateful to Global Sports Mentoring Program for the overall support to make the One Win Camps memorable and productive ones.


Christiana Nnorom described the two months Camps as a huge success, “there are a lot of success stories, lots of the girls have improved academically and they have learned some life skills which they are using to support themselves.


Some of the benefiting IDP girls who participated in the camp, Berthsebah Madami from Unguwan Zawura IDP Camp and Angelina Irmiya from Kagurna IDP Cam appreciated the Onewin Basketball Foundation for coming to their camps and selected some girls who were taught different skills and easy way to learn.


They also thanked GMSP for collaborating with the Onewin Foundation to provide them with the opportunity to be among the selected and transported back and forth from their camps to the training venue.

They called on govt and other well-meaning individuals to support the Onewin foundation to enable other IDP girls to benefit.


The benefiting girls also appreciated Cowbell Nigeria for the support of adding value to the two-month camp and appealed for more.
