Mighty Jets Returning Players

It was an historic and joyous moment on Wednesday 27/7/2023, at the New Jos Stadium as the new General Manager of Mighty Jets International FC, Mbum Ferdinand, was presented to the old and returning players of the club.


Mr. Ferdinand who is however, no stranger to the players as he served previously in the capacity of Media Officer for more than a decade before his elevation to the position of General Manager, was given a warm reception by players and fans alike.


While addressing the players and supporters of the club, Mr. Ferdinand appreciated the Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for finding him worthy of shouldering the responsibility of overseeing the affairs of the 1972 Nigerian League Champions, promising yet again, to guide the club back to the zenith of Nigerian Club Football.


In a statement by the Media Consultant, Mighty Jets Int'l FC, Jos,  Jerry Udoh, Mr. Ferdinand reminded the players of the club's tradition saying; "This used to be one of the best clubs around the country back in the days. 


"We are the first team to win the league in 1972, we got to the final of the FA cup 9 times but lost, not for anything but a lack of that sheer luck. So it is time to return to the top."


Assistant General Manager of the club, Salisu Nakande, MON, also sounded out the importance of donning the famous Mighty Jets jersey to represent the club.


In his words "Mighty Jets jersey is your life, you should be willing to sacrifice sweat and blood for the team, Mighty Jets is a brand not only in Nigeria but Africa and the world at large.


"So always give your all as we'll only choose the best, with no sentiment overriding quality."


Captain of the team, Alkassim Muhammed, stressed the need for unity and discipline as he assured the new management of maximum support and cooperation.


Thereafter, the returning players took to the field for their first training session.
