Jigawa State Governor Declares a 3-Day National Conference On Zakkat & Waqaf

Jigawa state government has reiterated its comment towards supporting the Association of Zakat and Waqaf Operators in Nigeria, (AZAWON). 

The state governor, Malam Umaru Namadi stated this at the AZAWON 3rd National Conference held at Manpower Institute, Dutse, Jigawa state.

Umaru Namadi assured the AZAWON that the Jigawa state will key up in training the youths to know significant and best practices of Zakat. 

He said giving out Zakat, especially on farm products will increase yields in the next season of farming. 

Governor Umaru Namadi also decried an increase in poverty in the country which he described as alarming. 

 


In a speech, the chairman of AZAWON, Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki Sadaukin Sokoto thanked the Jigawa state government for allowing them to host this year's conference in Jigawa state. 

Malam Maidoki explained that the Association is aimed at repositioning Zakat and Waqaf practices in Nigeria in line with global best practices. 

In his remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, urged Muslim Ummah to give out Zakat and Waqaf to profit from their wealth, as well as between him and his creature.
