Federal University Oye-Ekiti Honors Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi with Doctorate Degree in Political Science


In a momentous occasion, the member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi PhD, OON, was bestowed with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti State.

Renowned for his outstanding leadership qualities, Hon. Gagdi's remarkable contributions to the nation have garnered him national recognition and accolades.

At the 8th Convocation Ceremony of the institution, Hon. Gagdi was one of three distinguished Nigerians honored with the prestigious Honoris Causa. Joining him were the Majority Leader of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, MOB, CON, and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola, FCA, CON.

The Chancellor of the University, His Royal Majesty, the Attah Igala, (DR) Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa, emphasized that the selection of the awardees was a result of thorough assessment of their legislative duties and the positive impacts they have made through developmental projects and empowerment initiatives.

Hon. Gagdi, expressing his gratitude for the recognition, dedicated the award to the people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, acknowledging their trust in him and pledging to continue serving them with unwavering commitment and dedication. He reiterated his commitment to advocating for an egalitarian society and promised to uphold the values of transparency and accountability in governance.

The colorful convocation ceremony was attended by dignitaries from across the nation and beyond, including the Deputy President of the Senate, Dist Sen Barau Jibrin, the Governor of Ekiti State, HE Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Members of the National Assembly, and the Minister for State Environment, Dr. Kunle Salako Iziaq, among others.

The event showcased the exemplary achievements of Hon. Gagdi and his fellow awardees, serving as a testament to their dedication to nation-building and public service.
