Alhaji Liman Tambari Wamakko, the elder brother of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has passed away. He died on Sunday night at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto after a brief illness.
The deceased was laid to rest on Monday after a funeral prayer led by Liman Shehu Ardo Wamakko, the Chief Imam of Wamakko Central Mosque. The funeral was attended by dignitaries, including Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State, Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, and Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa.
Other notable attendees included the immediate past Minister for Police Affairs, Muhammadu Miagari Dingyadi, former Nigerian Ambassador to Tanzania, Amb. Sahabi Isah Gada, State Executive Council members, Special Advisers, traditional rulers, top politicians, and Ulamas from within and outside the state.
Alhaji Liman Tambari Wamakko’s death has been widely mourned, with condolences pouring in from various quarters. His family, including Senator Wamakko, have been commiserated with, and his legacy as a respected community leader and elder statesman has been celebrated. May he rest in Peace, Aameen.
