The Provost, CUSTECH College of Medicine, Prof Solomon Avidime, has been turbaned as the Odovidi Engnwu-Oniya of Ihima Kingdom.
The turbanning ceremony Prof Avidime alongside other notable citizens of Ebiraland took place during the activities marking the 16th anniversary of the Ohi of Ihima and Chairman, Okehi Local Government Traditional Council, HRH Ahmed O. Abdulraheem.
The title of Odovidi Engnwu Oniya of Ihims Kingdom is in recognition of Prof Avidime’s services to humanity, personal quality, integrity and contribution to qualitative healthcare services and educational development of Kogi State in general and Ihima community in particular
Prof Avidime was the pioneer chief medical director of the reference hospital Okene with remarkable achievements and now the pioneer Provost of the college of medicine CUSTECH, Osara. He was an award winner of the Daily post/leadership award 2024 for the remarkable achievements as CMD reference hospital, Okene.
Professor Avidime was thankful to God for making this day possible and expressed his joy that he was given this recognition while he was doing his best in offering services to the community in healthcare and educational development.
The Odovidi Engnwu Oniya wishes the paramount ruler long life and prosperity as well as expressed appreciation to his immediate and extended families, friends, and well wishers that graces the occasion
In his remarks the the Ohi of Ihims His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmed O. Abdulraheem charged the new Odovidi Engnwu Oniya of Ihima to redouble his commitment to the service to humanity.
He also reminds him of his role in the Ihima Kingdom as one of its illustrious sons of the Kingdom to keep to the expectations of the community.
The traditional ruler congratulates the newly turbaned Odovidi Engnwu Oniya for his well deserved traditional title from his Community.
Other activities lined up during the 16th anniversary celebration is the launching of a booklet by the Ohi of Ihima, titled ‘Hard Drugs Destroy’ which is aimed at discouraging youths from the use of drugs.
