Six Love Tennis Club Hosts Thrilling Tournament in Kaduna




Six Love Tennis Club, Kaduna, recently hosted a captivating tennis tournament sponsored by the club’s President, Mr. Aloysius Obute. The event, which commenced on December 6, 2024, brought together top and veteran tennis players from across Kaduna State, creating a vibrant platform for competitive sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The tournament featured four categories: Men’s Singles, Ladies’ Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Veteran Doubles. The matches showcased tennis skills, as winners emerged from the competitions. Participants walked away with cash prizes and souvenirs, marking the event as a success.


Participating clubs included the Airforce Base Tennis Club, Jaji Cantonment Tennis Club, One Div. Tennis Club, Millennium Suites Tennis Club, UNTL Tennis Club, NNPC Club House Tennis Club, and the host, Six Love Tennis Club. Notable attendees included Celestine Ohale, Patron of UNTL Tennis Club, and Ishaku Sankwai, Chairman of the NNPC Tennis Club.


In his remarks, Mr. Obute expressed his delight over the success of the tournament and the opportunity it provided for players to reconnect and build new friendships. He noted the unifying power of tennis, saying, “The tournament has been a huge success, bringing together players from across Kaduna State. It’s heartwarming to see old friends catching up and new friendships forming. We are thrilled to be part of this transformative experience.”


Mr. Obute extended his gratitude to the participating clubs for their enthusiasm and pledged to continue supporting and hosting such events. “We couldn’t have achieved this without the support of all participating teams. We look forward to even more impactful events in the future as we grow together,” he said.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comptroller of Immigration (Retired), Mr. Charles Sawok, also expressed his appreciation to the teams for their sportsmanship and dedication. He highlighted the tournament’s potential to attract corporate sponsors, aiming to elevate the event to a national level. “With additional support, we can expand opportunities for young players, nurture their talents, and encourage them to reach their full potential as champions,” Mr. Charles remarked.


Players and patrons alike expressed their gratitude. Celestine Ohale praised Mr. Obute’s sponsorship, saying, “This platform allows us to socialize, improve our health, and enhance our skills.” A player from Jaji Cantonment Tennis Club added, “Organizing a tournament of this magnitude is no small feat. We deeply appreciate Mr. Obute’s generosity in making this possible.”


In the Ladies’ Singles category, winner Kafayat shared her thoughts, saying, “It’s always refreshing to play tennis and have fun. I hope future tournaments will bring even more joy and improvement.”


At the tournament’s conclusion, prizes and souvenirs were distributed to winners and runners-up, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. The event, which fostered unity and promoted the sport of tennis, has set a high standard for future competitions.
