The Head of Service of Kaduna State, Hajiya Habiba Anana Shekarau, has urged staff of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) to embrace continuous learning and development to enhance their skills and contribute to the state’s development.
Shekarau made the call during the opening ceremony of a three-day in-house training organized by KSMC at the Broadcasting House, Wurno Road, Kaduna, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
“In today’s rapidly evolving world, the need for media professionals to stay updated and equipped with the necessary skills is indispensable,” she emphasized. “As one of the most vital conduits for communication and information dissemination, the media plays a critical role in fostering public trust, promoting accountability, and driving development.”
The training program will cover crucial topics such as Kaduna State Public Service and Regulatory (Statutes) Books and Work Ethics and Codes of Conduct in the Public Service.

The Head of Service stressed the importance of these topics, stating that “these guidelines are the bedrock of efficient service delivery, ensuring uniformity, accountability, and adherence to the principles of good governance.”
Shekarau further emphasized that the training aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s policy of human capital development, which aims to enhance the capacity of the state’s workforce.
“I urge all participants to actively engage with the facilitators, share experiences, and explore creative ways to apply the knowledge acquired during this training,” she advised.
The Head of Service commended KSMC for organizing the training and for inviting Directors from the Office of the Head of Service to share their expertise. “This collaboration demonstrates the synergy required to achieve our shared goal of a more efficient and professional public service,” she concluded.
