Kaduna is set to host the 4th edition of its Mini Beach Soccer Tournament following the approval of the Chairman of the Kaduna State Beach Soccer Association and Kaduna State Beach Soccer Club, Engr. Musa Nimrod. The tournament, a key event in the state’s sports calendar, aims to further develop beach soccer and provide a platform for local players to showcase their skills.

A statement by the association’s secretary, Adamu Muhammed, confirmed that the tournament will take place at Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, from February 14 to 16, 2025. Engr. Nimrod, who also serves as the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, granted approval for the event, reinforcing his commitment to the development of beach soccer in the state.

He has been a strong advocate for grassroots sports development, consistently supporting initiatives that nurture young talents and promote competitive sports in Kaduna.

The Technical Adviser of the Super Sand Eagles, Abdullahi Isa, welcomed the decision, noting that the tournament would serve as a crucial preparatory event for the state team ahead of the National Beach Soccer League season. “This will really engage and motivate the players toward preparation for the 2025 season,” he stated, expressing gratitude to Engr. Nimrod.

He further emphasized that such competitions are vital in improving team cohesion and fitness levels, which are essential for high-performance results in national and international competitions.

Similarly, the Chief Coach of Kada Beach Soccer Club, Muhammed Kabir Isa, lauded the chairman’s efforts in promoting the sport. “We appreciate this effort in promoting beach soccer in Kaduna. May it be a hitch-free tournament,” he said. He added that the tournament would not only benefit players but also attract more young people to the sport, helping to expand the talent pool and create more opportunities for aspiring athletes in the region.

The tournament is expected to bring together top beach soccer talents in the state, providing a competitive platform for players to showcase their skills as they gear up for national and international engagements.
