KADUNA state celebrate World Youth Skill Day Says youth empowerment remains it's priority

Kaduna State government says youth empowerment through Artificial intelligence and digital skills remains it's priority.


The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe stated this at this year's World Youth Skills Day organized by the Commissioner Ministry of Youth Development, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim in Kaduna.


Represented by her Senior Special Assistant Human Capital Development, Mallam Sagir Balarabe Musa, the Deputy Governor commended the Commissioner of Youth Development for the initiative in marking world youth skills day in the state, saying youth in Nigeria and Kaduna State have the largest population, hence the need to indulge them with A.I, and ICT for them to discover their potentials in turn gain financial freedom.


She urged the youth to utilize there talent and used the privilege given to them by the state government and it's partners to develop themselves.


” The state is willing to established center to support the youths in realizing their potential, it’s time for them to used the opportunity especially on the A,I and other technology realize worldwide, she added.


Also Speaking, The Commissioner Ministry of Youth Development, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim explained that this year's world youth skill day which is originally marked on the 15th of July was apt going by the theme: youth empowerment through artificial intelligence and digital skills. 


She noted that the large turn out of Youth in the program, shows that there are a lot of youth yelling for more knowledge and skills to be self reliant and financially independent in the state.


While commending the Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Uba Sani for his support and contribution towards youth development in the state, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim called on the youth to maximize the opportunities been thrown to them by the state government and it partners to develop themselves.


Also speaking, Commissioner of Education Kaduna State, Professor Abubakar Sambo who was represented by Malam Aliyu Mohammed said that the ministry would continue to collaborate with organisations and individuals that would empower the youth and transform them with skills to enable them compete globally.


He urged them to take advantage of the world youth day and programs being rolled out by the ministry to showcase their skills and transform the state.


On his part, the Vice Chancellor Kaduna State University,Professor Abdullahi Musa explained that KASU recently launched an A.I labory which is the first in the country, saying the university would continue to be in the forth font of youth development in the state.


Also speaking, Director General KAD ICT HUB, Malam Yusuf Bashir noted that ICT particularly A.I has so many features that assist in getting things done faster but advice that people should not be lazy.


While itemizing some of the success stories of the Hub, including the EDUNOID A.I app, Malam Bashir noted that youth in Kaduna State were willing to learn and explore.


The event which has over two hundred youth present, featured a panel discussion, good will messages, DEMO on A.I app, questions and answers sessions, STEM award presentation among.
