Ikulu Chiefdom Overseer Hails Kaduna's Free Fertilizer Initiative as Boost for Food Security

The Overseer of Ikulu Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Dr. Ayasal Anthony, has stated that the free distribution of 400 trucks of fertilizer by Governor Uba Sani’s administration is a step in the right direction and has demonstrated the state's commitments to ensuring food security and improving the economic well-being of small-scale farmers, as well as the general populace.

Dr. Anthony made this assertion while speaking with journalists shortly after the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of free fertilizer to 100,000 smallholder farmers across the 23 local government areas of the state.

Expressing optimism, he noted that if farmers utilize the opportunity wisely, the agricultural sector could contribute more than 43% of the state’s GDP.

The traditional ruler said that with the support of the people of Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani can achieve his goal of boosting agricultural productivity. He stressed the need for continued harmony among residents, regardless of religious, cultural, or tribal differences, to foster peace and progress in the state.

The Overseer of Ikulu Chiefdom also commended the level of understanding among the diverse groups in his domain, urging them to sustain the peaceful coexistence and remain productive for the overall development and progress of the region.

Dr. Anthony prayed for a bountiful harvest at the end of the rainy season in Kaduna State.
