Kaduna State has hailed the 2025 Hajj as a resounding success, with all 4,034 pilgrims safely completing their spiritual journey. Officials and pilgrims alike have praised the seamless organization, marking this year’s pilgrimage as a standout achievement for the state.
Early Preparations Paved the Way
Months before departure, the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency ensured thorough preparation for all registered pilgrims across the state’s 23 local government areas. Prospective pilgrims underwent over 15 weekends of training, covering Hajj rituals and proper conduct in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, all participants received mandatory vaccinations to comply with Saudi health regulations.
Upgraded Transit Camp Enhances Pilgrim Experience
A major highlight was the complete renovation of the Hajj Transit Camp, courtesy of Governor Malam Uba Sani’s unwavering support and the diligent efforts of the Special Committee overseeing the Agency, led by Chairman Malam Salihu Abubakar. The upgraded facility ensured a smooth and comfortable start to the journey.
Operations at the camp were highly efficient, with pilgrims receiving meals (one or two, depending on their stay duration) and departing for Saudi Arabia within 12 hours—a significant improvement that boosted morale.
Governor’s Charge: Pray for Peace and Unity
During the farewell ceremony, Governor Uba Sani, represented by Deputy Governor Hajiya Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, urged pilgrims to be worthy ambassadors of Kaduna and Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of prayers for peace and unity in the state and the nation.
Strong Leadership on the Ground
To ensure pilgrims' welfare, the Governor appointed 74 Hajj officials, including the Amirul Hajj, the Emir of Kauru, Alhaji Ya’u Shehu Usman. For the first time, the Amirul Hajj actively accompanied the pilgrims throughout their journey, guiding them through holy sites in Madinah and key rituals in Makkah. On the pivotal Day of Arafat, he led heartfelt prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and Nigeria’s prosperity and unity.
Exemplary Conduct and Honesty
Kaduna pilgrims distinguished themselves with outstanding behavior. Two individuals, Shafiu Abdul’azz and Sha’aban Sidi, earned widespread praise for returning lost money and documents belonging to Malian and Algerian pilgrims, showcasing the state’s values of integrity.
Quality Feeding and Comfort
The Agency prioritized pilgrims' nutrition, providing two daily meals in Madinah and Makkah and three meals during the critical five days in Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat. Pilgrims also enjoyed Nigerian staples like Tuwon Shinkafa with assorted soups, adding a taste of home to their spiritual journey.
Tragically, four pilgrims (three women and one man) passed away in Makkah. May their souls rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
Smooth Return and Special Gifts
The return process was equally well-organized, with pilgrims adhering to the 32kg luggage limit. Upon arrival at the Mando Hajj Transit Camp, each pilgrim received five liters of Zamzam water as a cherished keepsake.
Pilgrims Laud Historic Success
Reflecting on their experience, pilgrims described the 2025 Hajj as a "huge success," citing efficient logistics, improved facilities, strong leadership, and consistent access to nourishing meals.
The combined efforts of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, the Special Committee under Chairman Malam Salihu Abubakar, and Governor Uba Sani’s unwavering support have set a new standard for Hajj operations in the state.
