Abuja, Nigeria — The Ambience of Hope Exceptional Foundation (AHEF) marked its fifth year of existence with a wave of charitable donations to pregnant and nursing mothers across Abuja, bringing joy and much-needed relief to families in the Federal Capital Territory.
The non-governmental organization celebrated the milestone by visiting the Nigerian Customs General Hospital, ECWA Hospital, and a Primary Health Care center near Karu village, as well as some local streets. During these visits, AHEF freely distributed essential items, including baby kits, beverages, and other supplies to new mothers and expectant mothers.
Call for Improved Maternity Care
Speaking during the outreach, the National President of AHEF, Barrister Alexandra Uduak Olusola Olukomo, used the occasion to issue a strong appeal to government at all levels. She urged them to pay "premium attention" to maternity wards across hospitals, noting that many are in "deplorable conditions."
Barrister Olukomo also emphasized the need for more focus on the overall well-being of nursing mothers and the girl child to improve their living conditions. "Charting the cause of ensuring a better condition for mothers and the girl child should not be compromised," she stated, adding that "all hands must be on deck" in that direction.
Reflecting on AHEF's journey over the past five years, Barrister Olukomo reaffirmed the NGO's commitment to its mission. She noted that with divine assistance, the foundation has remained unwavering in introducing and implementing programmes with a direct bearing on humanity and pledged to sustain this trend. She also expressed gratitude to the AHEF management, staff, and other CEOs for ensuring the success of the anniversary programme.
Leaders and Beneficiaries Express Thanks
In separate remarks, AHEF General Controllers, Mr. Cocobassey Maurice and Mr. Samson Aruwa, commended the National President for her "dynamic leadership." They called on wealthy and well-spirited individuals and groups to emulate AHEF's example by channeling resources toward assisting those in need.
The gesture was met with overwhelming appreciation from the beneficiaries. Many of the mothers, unable to hide their joy, thanked the Ambience of Hope Exceptional Foundation for "putting smiles on their faces." They described the donation as a welcome surprise that would "go a long way in bringing succour to their families."
