Kaduna Governor Uba Sani Honored by NMA for Pioneering Health Reforms, Pledges Continued Support for Medical Excellence









Governor Uba Sani received the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kaduna State Branch, led by Dr. Hassan Bala Salihu, on a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.


The NMA commended Governor Uba Sani’s administration for major health sector reforms, including the implementation of the 2024 CONMESS and CONHESS salary structures, allocation of over 15% of the state budget to health, enactment of the first Mental Health Bill in Northern Nigeria, establishment of KADSEMSAS, completion of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu 300-bed Specialist Hospital, annual recruitment of 1,800 health workers, and first to implement the Medical Residency Training Fund in Nigeria.




Governor Sani, in appreciation, approved an operational vehicle and land for a housing scheme for NMA members, accepted to serve as the Association’s Grand Patron, and confirmed Kaduna’s readiness to host the forthcoming NMA National Games. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and positioning Kaduna as a hub for medical excellence and tourism.
