Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and Huawei Nigeria’s Enterprise Solutions Group met in Abuja on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, to advance discussions on the proposed overhaul of the university’s ICT infrastructure.
The Vice-Chancellor of ABU, Professor Adamu Ahmed, led the university’s delegation, while Mr. Mars Zhangmi, Director of Huawei Nigeria’s Enterprise Solutions Group, represented the technology firm.
The meeting focused on reviewing Huawei’s technical proposal for the ICT revamp, following earlier consultations held in May 2025 in Abuja and Zaria.
ABU is currently awaiting the final proposal documents for internal evaluation.
In addition to the infrastructure discussions, Huawei presented its Digital Financial Solution (DFS), which was also deliberated during the session.
Other ABU officials present included Professor Adewale Adedokun, Director of the Institute of Advanced ICT (IAIICT); Dr. Bashir Sani, Deputy Director, IAIICT; and Professor M. B. Mu’azu, Lead of the ABU Huawei Advanced ICT Support Centre and Director of the Distance Learning Centre.
