KADUNA – In a continued effort to blend athletic excellence with academic growth, the Chairman of the Kaduna Volleyball Association (KADSVA), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has announced a ₦2.8 million scholarship fund for promising volleyball players within the state.
The announcement was made in a statement by KADSVA media representative, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson.
Supporting Academic Dreams
The annual scholarship initiative targets student-athletes currently enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria. According to KADSVA Secretary Adamu Mohammed, 14 student-athletes were selected for the tertiary category, with each receiving ₦80,000 to support their studies.
In addition to academic support, Engineer Nimrod—who also serves as the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF)—continues to provide financial stability for the state’s top-tier talent.
Seven elite players received their monthly stipends of ₦30,000, backpaid for an eight-month period, totaling ₦240,000 per person.
"This gesture isn't just about the money; it's about ensuring our athletes have the peace of mind to excel both on the court and in the classroom."
The beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to Engineer Nimrod, citing his consistent dedication to sports development and human capital investment in Kaduna State. They offered prayers for his continued protection and success in leading the nation's volleyball community.
