Kada Warriors FC began their campaign in the Kaduna State Federation Cup on a winning note after defeating ABU Workers FC 2–0 in the opening match played at the Kotoko Barracks Field.
Two first-half goals were all that was required for Kada Warriors to seal qualification, as they dominated proceedings early and capitalized on their scoring opportunities before the break.
The Nigeria National League side took the lead through Aminu Diya Diya, who calmly finished to put Kada Warriors ahead and set the tone for the encounter. The early goal unsettled the NLO side, which struggled to contain the attacking threat posed by the Warriors.
Kada Warriors doubled their advantage later in the half when Philemon Arthur found the back of the net, converting a well-delivered assist from marksman Marvelous Eronmose. The second goal effectively put the game beyond ABU Workers FC, who were unable to mount a comeback despite improved efforts after the interval.
Speaking after the match, the General Manager, Garba Lawal, who watched the game, lauded the players and the technical crew for their impressive outing. He also dedicated the victory to the club chairman, Honourable Sadiq Mamman Lagos, in appreciation of his continued support to the team.
The result ensures Kada Warriors advance to the next stage of the competition, while ABU Workers FC bow out after a spirited but ultimately unsuccessful outing.
