ABUJA, June 12, 2026 – The member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Fom Dalyop Chollom, has called on Nigerians to remain committed to the ideals of democracy, justice, accountability, peace, and national unity as the country marks the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday, Chollom congratulated the people of Barkin Ladi and Riyom Federal Constituency, commending them for their continued support, resilience, and dedication to progress.
He described Democracy Day as an opportunity to celebrate the strength of Nigeria's democratic system, the resilience of its citizens, and the enduring power of the people's collective voice in shaping the nation's future.
According to the lawmaker, democracy remains the foundation for justice, peace, development, and national cohesion, stressing that effective leadership must always be anchored on service to the people.
Chollom expressed appreciation to residents of the constituency for their trust and confidence in his representation, noting that their commitment to a better future continues to inspire his service at the National Assembly.
The federal lawmaker also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion, commending his efforts toward strengthening democratic governance and advancing national development.
He further praised Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for what he described as visionary leadership and dedication to promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across Plateau State.
Chollom urged Nigerians to use the occasion of Democracy Day to renew their commitment to democratic principles and work collectively toward building a stronger constituency, a more united Plateau State, and a prosperous Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that the celebration would inspire renewed hope, progress, and prosperity for citizens across the country.
