Responding, Sani thanked the association for the visit and the show of solidarity, assuring members that sports development would remain a priority if elected.
He expressed concern over the challenges facing SWAN Kaduna, particularly the lack of operational vehicles, and promised to support efforts aimed at strengthening the association.
"It is unfortunate that Kaduna State SWAN does not have a vehicle despite the state's rich sporting history. By the grace of God, if we succeed in the forthcoming election, I will do my best to address some of these challenges," he said.
The former senator emphasized the need for greater investment in sports, describing it as a vital sector capable of promoting national unity, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing Nigeria's image globally. He lamented the country's declining fortunes in international competitions and called for improved grassroots talent development and sports administration.
Sani also commended ongoing efforts to rehabilitate sporting facilities in Kaduna State, including improvements at the Kaduna Township Stadium and the Ranchers Bees Stadium.
The SWAN members reaffirmed their commitment to promoting sports journalism and supporting initiatives that advance sports development across Kaduna State.
