Kaduna state government has been called to lift the ban on the sale of charcoal in the state for the benefit of the masses.
The Secretary of the National Association of Charcoal Producers of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter, Abdulsalam Abubakar Rijana made the plea in an interview newsmen in Kaduna.
Abdulsalam Rijana explained that charcoal has been the only alternative energy source for a common man to use for cooking in various homes.
He also appealed to the state government to set aside a piece of land for charcoal producers to plant trees for the production of charcoal which is going to generate more revenue for the state.
The Secretary lamented how people could afford to buy or refill gas slender or were unable to pay for kerosene as the price of those products is going higher every day.
Abdulsalam Rijana also charged members of the association to be calm as the association is up and doing towards ensuring the government reviews the ban on the sale of charcoal.
