Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board Receives Award of Excellence

The Niger State Governor Alh (Dr) Abubakar Sani Bello has been commended for his relentless efforts in comforting the State Pilgrims.

The Executive Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board Alh Umar Makun Lapai gave this expression while addressing some pressmen at the Conference Hall of the National Mosque Abuja today during an award ceremony organized by the Independent Hajj Reporters.

The Executive Secretary further explained that no success can be recorded by any parastatal without the full support of the Government.

This is contained in a signed statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to NSPWB, Hassana Isah which said the Niger State received an award for having "The Best Disciplined Pilgrims" in 2022 Hajj onshore and offshore from all over Nigeria.

Alhaji Umar Makun also thanked Almighty Allah for making Niger State the only State in the federation that had a successful and complete airlift of all its Pilgrims despite the challenges.

The Independent Hajj Reporters is an independent organization that monitors Hajj and all Hajj activities.  It supervises all arrangements starting from the Hajj fare collection, airlifting, accommodation for Pilgrims in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and airlift back home. It organizes and gives awards for hard work and successes to deserving States.

It could be recalled that this is the fourth year consecutively that Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board receives awards.

The first was in the year 2017 when it received an award of Excellence, then in 2018, and 2019 the State was assessed as the Best in terms of Pilgrims Welfare.
