The acting Chairman of Kaduna state Volleyball Referees Association, Sanusi Mohammed Bappa has described the officiating in the ongoing National Division 1&2 Leagues Finals as being impressive.
The acting Chairman disclosed this to newspanorama.com.ng on the sideline of the match between Olalomi Royal Club versus Life Camp, Abuja at the Gymnasium Hall of Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
"The officiating is a very good one, we started on Friday and took yesterday, (Saturday) as a free day and returned today, there is indeed progress in the officiating, and is a good one".
Sanusi Bappa explained that out of his eleven members six are officiating in division 1 & 2 leagues while four are directing proceedings in the premier league.
" We are very lucky in Kaduna state because we have two international referees who are from Kaduna when they go out of international engagement they normally come back with new information and we normally sat down among us and prepare clinics to refresh ourselves with new development in volleyball games".
Assessing the performance of Kaduna state volleyball referees, Sanusi Mohammed Bappa said they are lucky, "that is why I said we one very lucky because in the whole country we lucky to have two international referees and we normally have more information and again, Kaduna is a center whereby every year we have one or two volleyball competitions and we are lucky to the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation is from Kaduna and Chairman Kaduna State Volleyball Association, therefore I referees have updated always far ahead of others in the other zones".
He concluded by thanking President Engineer Musa Nimrod for his commitment to the development of the Volleyball game from the grassroots to the international levels.
Some of the matches decided for the day-three of the leagues finals indicate that in the 2022 National Division 1 volleyball League Men was a straight victory for Spartan Spikers against ABM of Katsina with the match ending 3-zero major count (25-22, 25-16, 25-13), and Nigeria Immigration Service beat UCEM of Enugu 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21), while JVC of Bauchi versus Caliphate Spikers of Sokoto ended 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 21-25, 25-21).
In the female category, LifeCamp VC defeated Olalomi Queens of Offa 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 25-20) and CNS Spikers posted a 3-1 win over Anambra Angels (18-25, 25-13, 25-10, 25-13), the Bayonet Spikers of Jaji lost to Yelwa VC 2-3 (16-25, 25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 13-15).
