Members of the Kaduna State Council of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) have pledged their total support for initiatives aimed at promoting the progress, unity and sustainable development of the association in the state.
The nurses and midwives made the pledge shortly after a meeting of the State Executive Council held at the Nurses and Midwives House Hall in Kaduna.
The meeting brought together leaders and representatives of the association to deliberate on issues affecting the welfare, development and collective aspirations of nurses and midwives across Kaduna State.
Members who spoke after the meeting expressed confidence in the leadership of the association and its commitment to pursuing programmes and projects that would strengthen the organisation and promote the interests of its members.
The members also expressed their loyalty and support for a recent decision of the State Executive Council, which mandated the relevant authorities to make deductions at source towards a proposed development project for the progress and advancement of the association.
According to the members, the initiative represents a collective effort towards building a stronger and more sustainable association capable of meeting the present and future needs of nurses and midwives in Kaduna State.
They noted that the proposed project would contribute significantly to the growth of the association and provide an important foundation for future generations of nurses and midwives.
The members further described unity, cooperation and collective responsibility as essential ingredients for the continued growth and success of the association.
They therefore pledged their commitment to supporting decisions and programmes designed to promote the welfare, professional development and collective interests of members.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Kaduna State Council, Comrade Nurse Ishayaku Yakubu, said the decision was taken in the overall interest and long-term development of the association.
Comrade Yakubu explained that the leadership remains committed to ensuring that the association continues to grow stronger and remains a platform through which nurses and midwives can collectively pursue their professional and welfare aspirations.
He said the initiative was conceived with the future in mind, stressing that investments in the development of the association would create lasting benefits for both present and future members.
The Chairman noted that the decision had received positive support and acceptance from members across Kaduna State, reflecting their confidence in the vision and direction of the association.
He commended members for their understanding, patience and commitment, describing their support as a demonstration of unity and a shared determination to move the association to greater heights.
Comrade Yakubu appealed to nurses and midwives across the state to continue working together, irrespective of their locations and areas of professional practice, in order to strengthen the association.
He emphasised that the collective strength of the association lies in the unity and active participation of its members.
The Chairman also assured members that the leadership would continue to promote transparency, accountability and consultation in the implementation of programmes and projects designed for the development of the association.
He stressed that the leadership remains committed to protecting the professional interests of nurses and midwives while also promoting initiatives that would improve their welfare and strengthen the association.
Some members who reacted to the development expressed optimism that nurses and midwives in Kaduna State are on the right track towards achieving greater unity, progress and sustainable development.
They said the growing commitment of members to supporting collective initiatives demonstrates a renewed determination to build a stronger, more vibrant and more progressive association.
The members called on their colleagues across the state to continue supporting the leadership and participating actively in programmes aimed at promoting the growth and development of the association.
They maintained that through unity, cooperation and a shared commitment to progress, the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives in Kaduna State would continue to grow from strength to strength and remain a strong voice for its members.
The development, they said, represents another important step towards building an association that is united, progressive and better positioned to address the collective aspirations and future needs of nurses and midwives across Kaduna State.
