NDLEA KATSINA STATE COMMAND NABS DRUG TRAFFICKER

In a recent operation on February 17, 2024, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Katsina State Command has successfully apprehended a drug trafficker during a routine Stop and Search Patrol along the Kano-Katsina Express Way.

This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NDLEA Katsina State Command Bashir Adamu ASN, issued in Katsina, Katsina state.


The suspect, according to the statement was identified as Jamilu Haruna, a 20-year-old resident of Charanchi LGA, Katsina State, was taken into custody along with other passengers in a commercial vehicle traveling from Lagos to Charanchi LGA. 

A thorough search of passengers and their belongings led to the discovery of illicit substances concealed within a rear tube of a dilapidated bicycle owned by Haruna.


The confiscated drugs include:

i. 154 grams of Cannabis Sativa

ii. 6.3 grams of Diazepam Pills

iii. 8.6 grams of Exol-5

The NDLEA Katsina State Command emphasized that the investigation was ongoing to extract more information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of additional accomplices involved in illicit drug activities.

As part of their continued efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking within Katsina State, the NDLEA urges the public to provide necessary support and assistance in achieving their objectives.
