The National President Parents Teacher Association of Nigeria Alhaji Haruna Danjuma has expressed concern over the plight of students of the Federal government college Yawuri who are still in captivity.
The President showed his concern in a chat with newsmen in Kaduna which is coming a few days after the release of the remaining 23 Abuja-Kaduna train victims.
“From the trending video all over the social media, every true father will be worried about the wellbeing of these kids who are still at the mercy of the terrorists who abducted them over one year now”
“These kidnapped female students were seen carrying all sorts of war weapons which is dangerous to their future”.
He expressed shock at seeing kidnapped abandoned secondary school girls holding all sorts of dangerous weapons.
According to him, their lives are no doubt in danger adding to the exposure to dangerous weapons as well as being surrounded by notorious and criminal elements.
Danjuma appreciated the federal government for securing the release of Abuja-Kaduna train abductees but equally reminded the government of Kebbi and Kaduna state’s students who are still with their abductors.
He appealed to the governments of the two states and the federal government to as a matter of urgency to deploy the same strategy and rescue all kidnapped children from the hands of terrorists.
Meanwhile, the president yet again called on the federal government of Nigeria and Asuu to resolve the about eight months strike to save Nigerian education from collapsing.
“The strike has indeed affected the quality education in a country, hence the need to bring to an end to it for our children to return to classes”.
Similarly the National President Foundation for the protection of Women and Children in Nigeria, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani equally draws the attention of the government to the need to rescue all the kidnapped secondary school girls and other citizens that are still in captivity in the forests.
She called on traditional title holders and religious leaders to help secure the release of all the kidnapped victims across the 19 northern states of Nigeria.
While also appealing to Jamiyyar Matan Arewa and Arewa Consultative Forum as well as coalitions of northern groups to prevail on the government for the release of all kidnapped victims in the country.
