National Sports Festival Torch of Unity Touches Kaduna

 

Governor Nasiru Ahmad ElRufai of Kaduna State has assured of befitting out in the National Sports Festival in Delta State.


The Governor stated this when he received the Torch of Unity at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna.
He said the state is preparing hard to participate and surpassed the last performance in Edo state.


“It is with great honor and pleasure that I have today received the torch of unity, to continue the flag off of the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, (NSF), taking place in Delta state, Nigeria”.

“We hoped that after the “Edo 2020″, National Sports Festival, the 22nd edition of the games will come to Kaduna!, we are ready for it but somehow Delta State beat us to it”.

“We then hope the next National Sports Festival would come here, (Kaduna) by the special grace of God, though I will not be a governor at that time, it will still be an honor to the government and people of Kaduna state if we can host such an important event”.


Governor El Rufai thanked the minister of youth and sports Development, Sunday Dare for taking steps to transfer the ownership and control of Ahmadu Bello Stadium back to the Kaduna state government.


He said having the stadium along with other sports facilities will prepare Kaduna state not only to host the next National Sports festival but also other regional zonal and continental games.


“I know that he is working on it and has got the necessary approvals, and we just waiting for the final sign-off of Mr. President, please convey the gratitude of the government and people of Kaduna State for his effort”.


The Torch was handed over to the state governor by the Northwest Zonal Coordinator, Muhammad Datti representing the Minister of Sport Development.
