The Network of Peace Journalists in partnership with Conflict Mitigation and Management Regional Council (CMMRC), has commiserated with the families of those that have lost family members and the entire people in Zango Kataf local government area over the unfortunate incident.
A statement jointly signed by Ibrahima Yakubu of the Network of Peace Journalism, Chairman CMMRC, Ibrahim Yusuf and the Public Relation Officer of CMMRC, Silas Kure, condemned in strong terms the attacks on innocent people.
"We received with shock the unfortunate attacks on community members of zonzon community of Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State that claimed the lives with others reported injured".
"As a peacebuilding structure, we totally condemn the manner of such attacks and call on the security agencies and the Kaduna State government to do the needful in terms of arresting the perpetrators of such dreadful acts".
The statement further appealed to all the relevant government agencies responsible to do more in terms of protection of lives and property to ensure that communities are given the needed protection.
"We continue to solicit for more understanding among the religious groups and youth to ensure to continue to support for peace at all levels, seeing that they have strong influence in terms of peace and unity, as we continue to pray for peace in affected localities in Kaduna State and the nation at large".
It concluded by extending condolences over the devastating situation and hope that peace will prevail in Kaduna State.
