2023 CAVB U21:Nigeria Volleyball Federation Pays Players Allowances upfront....Charges For Podium Finish

Ahead of the 2023 CAVB U21 Girls Zone 3 African Nation Championship in Niger Republic, the technical officials of the Nigerian team for the competition, said the Nigerian girls are in high spirits.


Speaking to www.newspanorama.com.ng, the Technical Director of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Chief Martin Melandy explained that "our U21 Girls have been in camp for three weeks in preparation for this championship".


"The girls played a friendly match against U18 boys and their performance have been excellence and statisfactory which has given us hope that the team is prepared for a podium finish".


"The girls are in high spirits and are zealous to participate in the competition and to have a podium finish, i have a lot of confidence in them because what i saw during the friendly match has given me hope they would do well". 


But when www.newspanorama.com.ng try to find out whether the technical unit had given a target to the team at the championship in Niger Republic, Melandy, responded that, "we have charged them to go for a podium finish which we know that by the grace of God they would come top".


He charged them not to be scared of anything team and should remain determined to play according to the instructions of their coaches and keep calm during crisis situation.


"We are aware of the need to motivate the players, that was why we are paying their allowances upfront, they are getting their allowances before they even travel, that would make them motivated".
