…Navy Captain urges Young Players To Study Hard
The Kada City Chess Championship has been described as successful and well attended by star players across Nigeria.
Kaduna State Chess Association’s, Chairman, Retired Navy Captain, Abdullahi Musa who stated this at the final of the U20 & U14 Chess Championship, congratulated all participants particularly the winners.
“We are all winners here today, I congratulate all participants particularly the winners and those that did not win anything for them to work hard, there was always a next time”.
“We thank the Almighty for successfully conclusion of Kada City Junior Chess Clash tournament, i want to thank you for attending this wonderful event”.
“The great display of talent and skills in this event was amazing. I want to also thank the Commissioner of Sports, Director of Sports, Chess Secretary, Board members of the Kaduna Chess Association, media and Chess Coaches for making the event a success”.
Abdullahi Musa thanked Mr Toco for ensuring the event was successful under his sponsorship, urging the young players to keep studying and working harder, “because, you might be the winner of the next event”.
At the end of the championship, OSADEBE Michael emerged the U20 winner with 10points, five points ahead of second placed, Ferdinand Tersee and ten points ahead of bronze medalist, Ilegieuno Justus on 9points.
In the U14 Male category, Nathaniel Danjuma stood toll on the summit with 7 points to win the 20,000 naira cash prize, leaving most improved player OLA PRAISE 5 Points behind with 10,000 naira while young Peter David finished third with 6 points, taking home 5,000 naira.
In the female category, National Youth Games Medalist, Jessica Bello won the queen crown and the 20,000 naira cash attached. Miss Deborah Agwom Dembo and Naomi Musa Monday finished with 7points and 6 points respectively.
