The Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Abdulrashid Garba as its first Vice-Chancellor.
This is contained in a statement signed by Administrative Secretary of the University, Malam Yusuf Datti issued to newsmen on Sunday 30th of July, 2023.
The statement reads, “With a career spanning over 33 years of teaching, research, and community service experiences. The appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees of the University under the chairmanship of Emeritus Professor Muhammad Sani Zahradeen”.
“He has previously served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Chief Executive Officer of the National Examination Council (NECO) as well as special adviser to the Minister of Education which further highlight his commitment to educational development”.
The university expresses its confidence in Professor Abdulrashid Garba’s ability to lead and guide its path towards a future of excellence and distinction.
Professor Garba was born on the 11th of April 1959 and is married with nine children.
The statement congratulated Professor Abdulrashid Garba on his appointment as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Khairun.
