Executive Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area, Ambassador, (Hon) Gideon Dandereng

Following the resumption of official activities at the 17 local government secretariats in Plateau State, occasioned by the directives of the Police High Command to the council chairmen to return back to their constitutional responsibilities at their various councils, the elected chairmen have resumed.

One of the Council Chairmen who resumed was the Executive Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area, Ambassador, (Hon) Gideon Dandereng who reiterated their commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence between the peaceful and loving people of the local government area.

Hon. Dandareng who stated in an interview with newsmen, described their return as a victory for democracy.

He also thanked the police force and the Plateau State Commissioner of Police for respecting the rule of law and he has promised as a law-abiding citizen of Nigeria he will ensure the life and prosperity of his people are protected at all costs.

Dandereng reinstated commitment to making sure he delivered a dividend of democracy to his people and he will carry everyone along pledging that his administration is for all Jos South citizens regardless of tribe, religion, and ethnicity.

Reacting to the Strike threat by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Dandareng said “is very surprising, that NULGE would disregard processes enshrined in the Nigeria constitution and the labor act to declare a strike, but as you can see this one is purely politically motivated”.

The Jos South Council Chairman also appreciated the Inspector General of Police, the effort of the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Area Commanders, and the DPOs as well as the Media for standing by the truth.

“Once again, I thank all those who participate in ensuring the rule of law wins and most importantly the police force and other security agencies for obeying the court order that restrained the Executive Governor from suspending them, in the early Month of June”, he added.
