A distinguished delegation of Northern Nigerian Christian Clergy has bestowed a prestigious Peace Award upon Sheikh Ibrahim Yakubu El-Zazzaky, recognizing him as a preeminent symbol of peace in West Africa.
The delegation of the Christian clerics from Kaduna, Kano, and Taraba states visited Sheikh Zazzaky's residence in Abuja, to present the award.
Presenting the award during a ceremony, Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of the Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Kaduna, said that the delegation found him eminently appropriate to bestow honor upon Sheikh Ibrahim El Zazzaky due to his profound contributions to fostering harmonious coexistence among adherents of diverse faith-based organizations within the country.
Pastor Buru accentuated that Sheikh Zazzaky consistently impacts teachings of peace and unity amongst Nigerians, transcending boundaries of tribe, religion, and historical context.
The Northern Christian Clergies' team presented him with an Award of Excellence, lauding his efforts to promote enduring peace and stability in the country.
Similarly, Prophet Armstrong Baryakat Ma'Aji from the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Church of All Nations), Arena of Liberty, extended his felicitations to Sheikh El Zazzaky for his unwavering advocacy against injustice and corruption, as well as his endeavors to foster religious concord and the freedom of worship, both in Nigeria and on a global scale.
In the same breath, Pastor Alkali Musa Nok from Kano State, Northern Nigeria, emphasized Sheikh El-Zazzaky's instrumental role as an architect of peace, consistently championing the cause of unity across the African continent.
"In recognition of his substantial contributions to peacebuilding and interreligious harmony, Sheikh Zazzaky was honored with the title of "Most Outstanding Peace Ambassador of the Year 2023 by the church"
In his response, Sheikh Ibrahim Yakub El Zazzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, expressed his profound gratitude for the distinction accorded to him by the Christian Clergies' delegation from the northern regions of Nigeria
He further underscored the paramount importance of nurturing tranquility and unity among Nigerians and all African nations.
He earnestly called upon both Muslims and Christians to steadfastly champion the cause of peace and religious harmony in all their interactions.
While calling on all black nations across African countries to equally live in peace and harmony with all mankind irrespective of tribe, religion, and cultural background.
