The shift in date for the 7 7th edition of the National Youth Games from September 7th to the 20th, 2023 by the federal Ministry of Sports Development has been described as a blessing in disguise.

Special Assistant to Governor Uba Sani on Sports Matters, Sai'du Idris Dibis who stated this in a statement, tasked Team Kaduna to take advantage of the extension to intensify preparations for podium finish.

"This date change is crucial and requires immediate response and I like to ask our coaches, players, and athletes to take advantage of the situation to focus on training".

"And from my assessment so far, after visiting some training venues and speaking to some officials, I can tell you the Kaduna State team is in good shape and good to go".

The governor's Special Assistant lauded the leadership competency demonstrated by the Commissioner of Sports Development, Prof. Gugong Benjamin in the management of sports in the state.

"This is somebody who actively joined the industry from the academics and quickly keyed in, taking the driving seat and I am sure prosperity would celebrate him".

Sai'du Dibis who assured of the state governor's determination to sports development, called on stakeholders in the sector to rally around the state government's policy direction for sustained growth.

"As this government approaches 100 days in office, you can see some of the distinct milestones recorded, while for sports prior from this time, the sporting industry has witnessed governor Uba Sani's passion for infrastructure development where neighborhood Sports Centres were constructed".

"Let me also say that as the election into the Kaduna State Football Association draws even closer, I urge the Normalisation Committee to conduct a free, fair, and credible election for the betterment of the football especially now that the state has a special interest in bringing back state-owned football club".

The SA however, congratulated the state governor Uba Sani for his achievements ahead of his 100 days in office.

The 2023 edition of the National Youth Games is scheduled to commence on September 20th-30th, 2023 in Asaba, Delta State.
