MHSD, UN Women, UNFPA, Others Meets To Harvest Suggestions To Improve Women Peace And Security Action Plan -Commissioner Human Services, Hajia Rabi

The Commissioner Ministry of Human Services and Social Development, Hajia Rabi Salisu has called for increased awareness of reproductive health for women and girls of reproductive age in the State.

Hajia Rabi made the call at a One Day sensitisation meeting for People With Disabilities, (PWD) on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH), Child Marriage, and Other Harmful Practices.

The meeting which was organized by the United Nations Population Fund, (UNFPA) in Collaboration with the Ministry, said the PWD community are one of the neglected vulnerable group affected by some of these vices, hence the need for the meeting. 

"Events like this are commendable as it provides a platform for interaction and sharing of experiences".

The Commissioner presented Dignity Kits to the participants and urged them to use what they learned to propagate the right of every woman, man, and child to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity. 

The Executive Director, of Kaduna State Disability Board, Hajia Rakiya A. Umar appreciated the UNPFA for their support in promoting and sensitizing women and young people with disabilities on sexual and reproductive health as well as other harmful practices.

The UN women's representative said the meeting is also about the realization of Gender-Based Violence and Peace in society and the current situation of peace and security by identifying the status and roles in the past and now as restoring peace in Kaduna state.

The meeting was also said to review achievements, obstacles, and challenges associated with the implementation of the Women Peace and Security Action Plan of 2026, and to harvest suggestions and recommendations of what issues particularly, emerging ones will be included in the new action plan.
