Hope is rising in Saminaka, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following an inspection visit by road construction officials on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, ahead of a proposed road project sponsored by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
The inspection team, accompanied by Hon. Mato Dogara, Hon. Ibrahim Lazuru and other stakeholders, assessed and measured the proposed road alignment ahead of commencement of work.
Speaking at the Emir's Palace in Saminaka, Hon. Mato Dogara said the Speaker was deeply concerned about persistent complaints by residents over the deplorable condition of the road, which prompted his intervention.
He disclosed that the proposed construction will cover about 10 kilometres, from Musa Tiga to Hayin Gada, after the bridge.
Dogara assured residents that necessary arrangements were being concluded to ensure the project commences without delay, and appealed to the community to remain patient.
In his remarks, the Emir of Saminaka expressed appreciation to Speaker Abbas, the Kaduna State Government and other stakeholders for responding to the community's long-standing concern.
He said the bad condition of the road had adversely affected farmers' ability to transport their produce to markets, exposing them to losses and high costs.
The Emir expressed hope for speedy commencement and completion of the project, and urged those responsible to ensure the promise is translated into action.
He also commended Governor Uba Sani, Speaker Abbas and other individuals contributing to the development of Saminaka and Lere Local Government Area.
In separate interviews, Hon. Mato Dogara and Hon. Ibrahim Lazuru reaffirmed commitment to the project, expressing confidence in the Speaker's track record of fulfilling promises and assuring residents that construction would commence as pledged.
Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Lere Local Government Area, Mr. Jonathan Shekarau, expressed confidence that the project would be executed, describing the latest assurance as a commitment that would be fulfilled.
He appreciated Speaker Abbas for his development efforts in Lere and commended Hon. Mato Dogara for facilitating the project.
The event ended with prayers for peace, progress and development in Lere Local Government Area and Kaduna State at large.
