Civil Society Organization, CSO under the auspices of Connected Development, CODE, and Development of Educational Action Network, DEAN INITIATIVE has flagged off an awareness campaign on the need for the public to demystify the myths surrounding COVID-19 vaccines for improved socioeconomic well-being.
In a Focus Group Discussion, FGD, the Kaduna State coordinator for COVID-19 Transparency and Accountability Project, CTAP Mr. Umar Abubakar Sadiq during the program in Kakuri said there is a need for people to shun views that condemn the vaccine.
He said, the significance of vaccines of any kind cannot be overemphasized, hence the need for people to disregard any negative information aimed at discouraging them from taking it.
He said the project which is an initiative of BudgIT is also targeted at making the Primary Healthcare Centres accessible for people with divergent health needs.
According to Umar Sadiq, the focus group discussion became imperative following the need to sensitize people in their communities on the need for them to be proactive in taking the COVID-19 vaccine and other related vaccines to enhance their well-being for Socioeconomic development.
In a lecture on COVID-19 Vaccine, Mr. Ejikeme Ogueji stressed the need for people to be vaccinated and shun the myths surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine among others.
On his part, the Mai Angwa of Kakuri, Alh. Labaran Suleiman urged the Community to always make themselves available for vaccination.
Some of the participants Mr. Taiye Adeniji and Gloria John said they did not believe in the COVID-19 vaccines, but with the awareness campaign and lectures on its efficacy, they got clarified and were ready to take any related vaccines to boost their health status.
