Gamburo Foodstuffs Market Gutted By Fire...Billions Of Naira Worth Of Property lost

A fire outbreak has engulfed the Gamburo foodstuffs market in Maiduguri, destroying property worth billions of naira.

Speaking to newsmen on the telephone on the inferno, the General Manager of Borno State Urban Planning and Development, Liman Gana Mustapha said the cause of the inferno is still yet to be confirmed.   

"The fire started around twenty minutes after five o'clock this Sunday morning and destroyed property worthy of billions of naira". 

Liman Gana Mustapha said the government has sympathized with the affected victims of the market and called on them to be calm as the government will do what it can to assist them.  

It could be recalled that about two months ago a similar incident occurred at Monday's market which is at the heart of Maiduguri town. 

He explained that the fire gutted food stuff which included maize, beans, rice, and vegetable crops, etc.
