The Governor -Elect of Plateau State Dr Nentawe Yilwatda this morning led a powerful delegation to condole with some bereaved families in Jos.
He visited the families of the late Sunday Hyat and that of a Jos based businessman Alhaji Ahmadu Laushi.
Accompanied by his Deputy, Pam Botmang and some of his supporters,the Governor-Elect first port of call was the Hyat family, where he was received by the late Engineer Sunday's younger brother, Deputy Commissioner of Police Wan Hyat and the former Minister of Sports Chief Damishi Sango.
Dr Nentawe described the death of the late Sunday as a personal loss because of the long established ties existing between the Yilwatdas and the Hyats.0
According to him, the two families became very close in 1975, when their deceased fathers were in the Bible school and Pastor's college both in Gindiri.
He disclosed that his mother Mama Lydia became devastated, when she heard of the late Sunday's death and expressed her readiness to participate in the burial rites.
The Governor -Elect revealed that words cannot express his grief as a result of the deceased death, adding that right from their days in Gindiri Boys Secondary school, the late Sunday had always supported him up to the time he contested the governorship election.
Dr Nentawe remarked that the deceased represented humility,honesty and sincerity which made him a very successful as well as a reliable technocrat and competent engineer.
The Governor -Elect noted that what is heartwarming and consoling is the fact that the late Sunday mentored many youths and also put his best in the service of the State and the Country at large.
Receiving the Governor -Elect,the younger brother of the deceased,DCP Wan Hyat applauded him for coming to share with them in their moment of grief
He disclosed that, though the late Sunday's demise is painful, his mother and other members of the family are consoled by the out pour of visits and messages of condolences from people across the State and the Country at large.
Also commenting on the Governor-Elect's condolence visit, one time Minister of Sports, Chief Damishi Sango disclosed that he had thought that the deceased would take over from him in providing leadership in his community, but for death,it was not possible.
Chief Sango disclosed that the Hyat family was aware of what Dr Nentawe and the leadership of the APC had planned for the deceased, regretting that God felt otherwise.
The former Minister used the opportunity to express confidence in the Governor -Elect, noting that there couldn't have been a better person to be the governor of the State other than him.
Chief Sango expressed optimism that people of the State would surely have every reason to smile when Nentawe eventually becomes the governor.
The Governor -Elect with his team also visited members of the family of a Jos based businessman Alhaji Ahmadu Laushi to commisirate with them over the death of Hajiya Laure Laushi who died about three days ago at the age sixty -eight years.
After the condolence visit, the Governor -Elect proceeded to attend the wedding fatiha of Ahmed Laushi which took place along Massallachi Jumma'a Street in Jos.
