In a heartwarming gesture, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna State Council, has recently been presented with a generous donation of at least a hundred bags of rice.
The donation serves as a palliative measure aimed at alleviating the economic challenges that have gripped the nation.
The contribution was facilitated through the office of Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, the Senior Special Assistant to President Ahmed Tinubu on Media, based in Abuja.
The Chairperson of the Council, Hajiya Asma’u Halilu expressed deep appreciation for this gesture, emphasizing the critical importance of food provision during these trying times.
She highlighted the significance of the donation, stating, “This is highly commendable because food is one of the basics of life and we are receiving the donation at a time it is needed the most. On behalf of our members, we say thank you.”
Hajiya Asma’u further explained that the donation of rice will be complemented with other essential items like soya oil, sachet tomatoes, seasonings, and beef in preparation for the upcoming festive season.
The Chairperson underscored the commitment of the council’s leadership to prioritize the welfare of its members, recognizing the prevailing hardships in the country and the importance of collective support during such challenging times.
