The Plateau State political sphere has witnessed a significant share of this benevolence from members representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam, (PKK) Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Ph.D. OON has distributed over ₦51 million and 740 bags of rice among various Muslim groups and individuals in anticipation of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations on April 10th, 2024.
According to the Gagdi Strategic Media Team, the Sallah kind gesture saw stakeholders receiving a total of ₦12 million to support their Sallah preparations. Political party leaders enjoyed a ₦5 million share, while support groups received ₦10 million to mark the festive occasion.
Traditional and religious leaders within the PKK constituency were also recipients of Gagdi's kindness, with ₦3.7 million and ₦3 million allocated to them, respectively. Additionally, pressure groups and political associations were granted ₦4.15 million each.
The distribution of rice was equally widespread, with Imams of Friday mosques receiving 60 bags, VOGA offices 120 bags, and State Wards across PKK 60 bags. Women's groups, prominent stakeholders, APC groups, and the lawmakers' Muslim domestic staff were allocated 30, 80, 48, and 75 bags, respectively.
The elders' caucus, family members, and friends of the lawmaker were also considered, with 55 and 100 bags shared among them. KPY received 60 bags, while the Kanam Projects Monitoring Committee and Kanam Patriotic Youth Forum were allotted 35 and 17 bags, respectively.
Rt. Hon. Gagdi acknowledged the possibility of some misgivings due to the non-inclusion of certain individuals or groups, attributing it to human error and seeking forgiveness from those affected.
Committed to continuous improvement, Gagdi calls for prayers and support as he endeavors to enhance the welfare of his constituents in PKK.
