"SWAN Kaduna Chapter Protests Harassment of Member, Boycotts Polo Events"

The Kaduna State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has announced a boycott of all Polo events in Kaduna state.

The SWAN members decided during its congress meeting held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

The assembly engaged in discussions on several pivotal matters, including the SWAN Week, the welfare of members, local sporting events, and fostering partnerships and sponsorships to bolster sports promotion within the state.

During the last Kaduna International Polo Tournament one of our members was harassed and prevented from carrying out his duties on the final day of the tournament," disclosed the State Chairman Shehu Abdullahi while briefing members.

Abdullahi said, "While we are still waiting for the Polo club's genuine commitment to address the issues tabled by Swan leadership, I appeal to you people to stay away from any activities relating to Polo for now". 
In some of the resolutions reached at the end of Congress, Acknowledgment of Engineer Musa Nimrod, the congress, meeting acknowledged and congratulated Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, for the successful organization of the President Beach Volleyball Cup 2024 held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

It also expressed gratitude to the House Committee Chairman on Sports, Honorable Ekene Abubakar Adams, for his generous donation of 20 million naira to the Kaduna state NLO Clubs.

The congress among others praised the National President of SWAN, Isaiah Kemje Benjamin for his adept handling of internal challenges and reaffirmed its steadfast support for his leadership, endorsing him and his cabinet with a vote of confidence.
