Colenel Abdulmummuni Aminu (rtd), former chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), has paid tribute to the late Ibrahim Babangida, describing his death as a "huge loss to the nation." 

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna after a condolence visit to Tijjani Babangida's home, Colenel Abdulmummuni praised Ibrahim's contributions to Nigerian football, saying, "Babangida is a great Nigerian and a great player who was patriotic and gave his all to the game to make the country proud till today."

The former NFA chairman fondly referred to Ibrahim and his teammates as "my children," expressing his pride in their achievements during his tenure. 

"When I was the chairman of NFA, they made us proud; they are my children, and I want to pray for forgiveness for Ibrahim who died and bless the rest," he said.

Colenel Abdulmummuni emphasized that the country's footballers deserve more recognition.
