The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), Dr. Usman Hayatu Mazadu, has stressed that funding is crucial for effective disaster control and management. He made this disclosure during a stakeholders meeting with Education Services Departments at the SEMA headquarters in Kaduna.
Mazadu recalled his engagement with the Vice Chairmen of the 23 Local Government Areas in the state last year, where he assured them of his commitment to disaster management. He acknowledged that funding is a critical issue in disaster control and has been working to connect with experts in the field.
The KADSEMA boss emphasized that disaster management requires consistent funding, especially at the grassroots level. He assured the Vice Chairmen of the Local Government Areas that each LGA will receive N500,000 monthly for office operations to ensure seamless disaster management.
This development is expected to enhance the capacity of local governments to respond to disasters and emergencies, promoting a more effective and proactive approach to disaster management in Kaduna State.
