The Commissioner of Local Government Affairs, Hon Sadiq Mamman Lagos, has extended a hearty congratulations to Barr Ibrahim Bello Rigachikun, Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Affairs to Governor Uba Sani, on his turbaning as “Turakin Bai Zazzau”.
The turbaning ceremony, which took place on May 3rd, 2024, at the Emir’s palace in Zaria, was a grand occasion that brought together dignitaries from across the state. The title of “Turakin Bai Zazzau” is a traditional honor conferred on individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to the Emirate Council.
Commissioner Lagos, in a statement, described the title as “well deserved” considering Barr Rigachikun’s commitment and contribution to the Emirate Council. He praised Barr Rigachikun’s tireless efforts in promoting peace, understanding, and development in the state, and expressed his appreciation for the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, and the Emirate Council for recognizing his outstanding service.
The Commissioner also prayed for continued peace, progress, and development in all areas of endeavour, and urged Barr Rigachikun to continue using his position to promote the well-being of the people of Kaduna State.
Barr Rigachikun, a seasoned legal practitioner and astute administrator, has served in various capacities in the state government, including as a member of the State Executive Council. His appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Affairs was widely seen as a testament to his ability and dedication to serving the people of Kaduna State.
The turbaning ceremony was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders, who all came to celebrate Barr Rigachikun’s achievement and to show their support for the Emirate Council.
In his acceptance speech, Barr Rigachikun expressed his gratitude to the Emir and the Emirate Council for the honor, and pledged to continue working tirelessly for the progress and development of the state.
