Trade Union Congress, Kaduna Celebrates May Day Laud Governor Uba Sani’s Commitment to Their Well-being

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Kaduna State Council, celebrated the 2024 May Day with a call to prioritize the well-being of workers. Comrade Abdullahi Alhassan Danfulani, in his address, expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his dedication to the state’s workers.

Danfulani emphasized the importance of putting “People First” and prioritizing workers’ safety, health, and dignity. He commended the governor’s efforts in addressing insecurity, particularly the recent kidnapping of students in Chikun LGA, and the return of a peaceful atmosphere in Tudun Biri, Igabi LGA.

The council also drew attention to infrastructure deficits in rural areas, urging the government to upgrade facilities like roads, electricity, and water supply. Additionally, they highlighted the need for manpower in the civil service, suggesting a five-year extension for workers to ensure effective succession planning and retirement packages.

Danfulani praised the return of the micro-credit scheme, which has benefited over 500 civil servants, and appealed for additional funding to accommodate more workers. He also called for autonomy for the Kaduna State Water Corporation and the transfer of personnel salaries to the Ministry of Finance.

The council expressed appreciation for Governor Uba Sani’s worker-friendly approach and extended their support to his administration.
