Vandals Cause Train Disruption, NRC Apologizes to Passengers, Assures Safety

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) announced today that a technical hitch occurred in their operations at Asham Railway Station in Kaduna State, affecting one of their trains. Fortunately, all passengers on board were safely returned to Abuja (Idu) without incident.

According to a statement signed by the Deputy Director Public Relations, Yakub Mahmood the technical issue was caused by the removal of track fastening clips by vandals. However, the corporation has assured that the safety of their passengers remains their top priority.

"As a result of the incident, the first train from Kaduna (Rigasa) scheduled for 8:00 hours on Thursday, June 6, 2024, has been cancelled. All other train services will operate as scheduled," Mahmood stated.

The NRC Management apologized for any inconvenience caused to their esteemed passengers and assured that their tickets remain valid for a subsequent journey within two weeks.

The corporation remains committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of their passengers in the entire system.
