The Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, led the Principal Officers to the Government House on Monday December 16th, 2024 for the presentation of the approved 2025 Appropriation Bill. The bill was presented to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Dr. Uba Sani, for his assent.
In a statement by the Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman House Committee on Education, Barr. Mahmud Lawal Ismaila (Bola Ige), said, during the ceremony, Speaker Liman commended Governor Sani for his prompt submission of the budget.
He stated, “Once again, I commend the tireless efforts of His Excellency, the Executive Governor, for working closely with the Kaduna State House of Assembly to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people. The commitment of the Uba Sani-led administration to creating an enabling environment for transformative developmental projects across the state cannot be overstated.”
Governor Sani, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude to the House of Assembly for their swift action in passing the Bill within just 10 days. He also praised the Assembly for the numerous bills they have passed into law.
“I extend my profound gratitude to the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Liman, and all Honorable Members for their swift consideration and passage of the Appropriation Bill. I also thank the Planning and Budget Commission and everyone who worked diligently to produce the 2025 Appropriation Bill. I urge our citizens to provide us with their full support and cooperation as we begin implementing the 2025 budget. We are committed to leading our people toward a brighter future and remain steadfast in our resolve to build a state that is safe, prosperous, and equitable for all,” he said.

The 2025 Appropriation Bill was initially presented by Governor Sani on December 2, 2024, to the House of Assembly. The Bill was referred to the House Committee on Appropriation for detailed study and further legislative processes. The respective House Committees invited the MDAs for defense, and after harmonization, the Appropriation Committee presented its report to the House, which was unanimously accepted. Following the third reading, the House passed the Bill into law.
The 2025 budget allocates the largest share to Education at 26.6%, followed by Finance, Health, and Agriculture with 18.39%, 16.07%, and 9.36% respectively.
Barrister Mahmud Lawal prayed for Allah’s sustain guide and protection for the people of Kaduna State. He also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, education, and healthcare, and called on the people to support the state Assembly as well as the state government efforts for the betterment of the citizenry.
