A new television station, Arewa Vision TV, has officially launched in Zaria. The station was inaugurated by its Managing Director, Human Rights Ambassador Aminu Yusuf Mamman D.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Mamman D. stated that the station aims to address various critical issues affecting northern communities. He emphasized that Arewa Vision TV will feature programs designed to shed light on the increasing cases of human rights abuses in the region.
He described the station as one committed to serving the people through community-oriented programming. "Arewa Vision TV is for the people. It is a platform for community service, agriculture, human rights advocacy, science and technology, religious discourse, and entertainment," he said.
The Managing Director appealed to the community to actively engage with the station by ensuring that only lawful and ethical programs are broadcast.
Ambassador Mamman D. also expressed hope that the northern populace would fully utilize the station’s offerings, noting that it is the first television station in the region dedicated to human rights advocacy.
In his remarks, one of the station's directors, Alhaji Lawal Jibril Shatiman Bomo, described Arewa Vision TV as a game-changer. He said it would serve as an eye-opener for the common man on issues of human rights abuses.
Shettiman Bomo urged northern communities to leverage the platform for regional progress. He further highlighted the station's potential to reduce crime and drug addiction among youths through educational and awareness programs.
The launch event was attended by representatives of security agencies, traditional leaders, civil society organizations, politicians, lawyers, and media professionals.
